So wie bei Bonhoeffer lassen sich die Aufgaben der Kirche gegenüber Staat und Öffentlichkeit auch heute zusammenfassen.

  • Die erste von Bonhoeffer genannte Aufgabe verstehen wir heute als Kultur der Einmischung. Wenn die Kirchen mit Denkschriften in die demokratische Zivilgesellschaft hineinsprechen, dann geht es genau um das, was Bonhoeffer als „Verantwortlichmachung des Staates“ bezeichnete.
  • Die zweite Aufgabe, der diakonische Dienst an den Bedürftigen, bleibt ohnehin. Dass er heute geleistet wird, zeigt sich, wenn etwa Gemeinden mit großer öffentlicher Zustimmung für den Schutz von Flüchtlingen eintreten.
  • Und die dritte Aufgabe? Was heißt dem Rad in die Speichen fallen? Für Bonhoeffer…
